Work

Where I've worked, and what I built while I was there

IT roles at a school district and a library system, a web-design business of my own, and the automation I built along the way.

West Muskingum Local Schools

IT Assistant · January 2026 – present

I'm one half of our district's two-person tech team. Most of my work is building and running the systems we use to manage our district's Google Workspace, Chromebook fleet, printing and security.

  • Designed and built WM.Tools, a Dockerized Laravel 12 portal with 21 tools and ~21k lines of code that runs our department's daily work. It integrates Google Workspace (GAM7), the regional student information system, PaperCut, Action1, IT Glue and OpenSign behind Google sign-in. Permissions are inherited from Google OUs and Groups.
  • Resolved a production outage in which a runaway automation made 53,000 API calls in an hour and used up every PHP-FPM worker. I added distributed lock-based concurrency limits, jittered retries and fail-fast rejection so a flood can't take the site down again.
  • Run a self-hosted n8n automation platform in queue mode (3 workers, PostgreSQL, Redis):
    • nightly student-data ingestion over SFTP with hash-based change detection
    • two-way password sync between Vaultwarden and IT Glue
    • automatic Wazuh agent upgrades and nightly Linux patching
  • Automated the Chromebook lending program end to end, from request through parent signature, checkout and return. The 54-node workflow is generated from Python, with linting, offline tests and a test-mail safety switch.
  • Built a containerized CUPS print server compiled from source as a PaperCut secondary server. It enables metered, TLS-secured printing from managed Chromebooks through a private CA deployed fleet-wide via Google Admin.
  • Automated Vaultwarden updates with health checks and image rollback, plus nightly backups with self-service restore. I restored the vault from the previous day's backup after a power outage corrupted its database.

Binary Prosperity LLC

Founder · 2025 – present

My web-design and hosting business. I built its infrastructure:

  • dev-llc, a provisioning platform that puts each client on a dedicated Vultr VPS: per-client SSH keys, Cloudflare DNS and Origin CA certificates, and container images deployed from GitHub's registry
  • Its predecessor dlt, which launched 11+ sites on my homelab
  • GitHub Actions CI (tests, lint and a scheduled security audit) across my company's repositories

Muskingum County Library System

IT Assistant · October 2020 – December 2025

  • Managed network infrastructure across all 6 branches: a Sophos firewall, switches and Cisco access points.
  • Configured, monitored and updated 100+ public and staff workstations.
  • Administered 50+ iPads with Meraki MDM.
  • Handled the support ticket queue for patrons and staff.
  • Wrote software the staff used day to day:
    • Send2Email, a C# app for the microfilm machines that emails scans to a configured address, with an encrypted SMTP password
    • KnowBe4 Auto Staff Results, a Google Apps Script automation that turns the monthly phishing-simulation reports into yearly per-employee tracking sheets
    • Google Docs QRify, which replaces a placeholder in a Google Doc with a QR code linking back to that document

Earlier

  • Data Entry Clerk, Neola (2018). I wrote software that automated converting source documents into usable data. It processed 12,000+ documents a day, about 40× the manual rate, with accuracy checks against the source documents.
  • Call Center Representative, Time Warner Cable (2016). Phone support and remote troubleshooting of customer equipment.

Education & certification

  • Associate of Applied Business, Zane State College, 2018
  • CompTIA A+, 2020
